Abstract:

Traffic violations and aggression are often regarded as social issues with important social and economic consequences. The present study investigated the potential contribution of demographic variables, Driving Anger, and aggression on the prediction of aggressive Driving behaviors. The sample population consisted of 168 male drivers with an age range of 19– 30 years old and the average Driving experience of 9 years. All participants filled out the self-reported scales that assess Driving Anger, aggression dimension, and Driving behaviors. Based on the participants' responses to the trait-Anger dimensions in Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, they were re-categorized in three Driving Anger categories of high-trait-Anger, medium-trait-Anger, and low-traitAnger. All of the participants had a Driving certificate. The results of this research indicate that: (1) for almost all variables, the effect of Anger was significant, (2) Anger situation had a contribution in the prediction of lapse, errors, and violations, (3) demographic variables, Driving Anger, and aggression were all involved in a complementary manner in predicting the Driving behavior, and (4) aggression was the best predictor of the violations. Future research is recommended to continue to investigate the effect of various environmental, social, psychological, and personality factors on risky Driving behaviors in order to identify appropriate treatment and prevention strategies for this societal concern.

Abstract:

The present study examined the mediationg role of Driving Anger on the relationship between personality traits and aggressive Driving behaviors among drivers. In this correlational study, 400 drivirs responded to the Five Factor Inventory (FFI, John & Srivastava, 1999), the Driving Anger Scale (DAS; Deffenbacher, Oetting, & Lynch, 1994) and the Driving Anger Expression Inventory (DAEI; Deffenbacher, Lynch, Oetting & Swaim, 2002). Results showed that there is a positive significant correlation between neurotism with Anger emotion and non-adaptive expression of Driving Anger and there is negative significant correlation between neurotism with adaptive expression of Anger Driving. Results also indicated that there is a negative significant correlation between extraversion, conscensciesness, agreeableness and openness to expriences with Anger emotion and non-adaptive expression of Driving Anger and positive significant correlation with adaptive expression of Driving Anger. Results showed that the partially mediated model of Driving Anger on the relationship between personality traits and Anger expression had acceptable fit to data. In sum, these finding show that the part of available variance in aggressive Driving behaviors in the context of prediction by personality traits, accounted for Driving Anger emotion.

Abstract:

This research investigate behavioral –epistemic medical group effectiveness on reducing Anger and aggressive Driving. Research design in form of before test and after test was with control group.20 taxi driver in mashhad was example group that selected with sampling method and they participate in research voluntarily. Participating have divided two group: examin and control groups. Examin group receive behavioral – epistemic medicament and control group don’t receive interference. Measurment devices was: Driving Anger scale (DAS), Driving Anger questionary. Data analysed with using of spss 16 software and variation analysis statistical method. Results show that CBT group have Driving Anger reducing and Driving Anger formative-adaption manifestation increasing.

Abstract:

Introduction: Numerous surveys showed that angry and aggressive Driving behaviors occur routinely and with great cost to society. Thus, the present research aims to studying the effect of the Cognitive-Behavioral Group Therapy in Reducing Anger and Aggressive Driving.Method: The experimental design with pretest-posttest and follow up with control group was used. The sample of this study included 20 male taxi drivers in Mashhad who were recruited if accessible or volunteered to participate in the research. Participants randomly were divided into experimental and control group. The experimental group received Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy (CBGT) and control group received no intervention. Both groups were tested three times with pretest-posttest and one month follow up. The tools used were, Driving Anger Scale, Driving Anger Expression Inventory and demographic characteristics questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16 software and statistical method mixed analysis of variance. Results: The results showed that Cognitive-Behavioral Group Therapy in comparison to control group lead to significant reduction in Anger Driving (p<0.05), aggressive expression of Anger Driving (p<0.01) and significant increasing in adaptive/constructive expression of Anger Driving (p<0.05).Conclusion: According to the research findings, Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy is effective in decreasing Anger and aggressive Driving in the sample of taxi drivers.

Abstract:

Background and aims: One of the most important concerns of today's societies is the problem of road accidents and related deaths and injuries. Every year, road accidents can lead to many deaths and injuries, and the most important factor in the occurrence of these accidents is human factor. The role of human in accidents is assessed from different aspects, in which individual factors, including mental workload and Anger, are among the most important predictors. Therefore, trying to investigate, prevent, and control of these factors in Driving is one of the important issues, and for this reason, the present study examines the effect of mental workload on the occurrence of Anger among drivers. Methods: 88 Qazvin city taxi drivers participated in this study. Driving Activity Load Index (DALI) and the Driving Anger Scale (DAS) were applied to measure mental workload and Driving Anger, respectively. In this study, first, the peak hours of traffic (11: 00 to 14: 00 local time) were selected based on the online traffic map of the city. Then, heavy traffic density routes were considered using Google Map. Based on high-traffic routes, a two-stage scenario was regarded to measure the mentioned scales. The measurement of the studied scales was done by completing the questionnaire in the middle and at the end of the route. To analyze the collected data, paired t-test and correlation and regression analyses were employed. Results: The results of the study showed that long Driving and traffic environment can greatly affect all dimensions of mental workload (P <0. 001). Mental workload had a great impact on increasing Driving Anger (P <0. 001). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that increases in drivers' mental workload can lead to increased levels of Driving Anger, which indicates the influence of traffic environment on Driving behavior, therefore, measures and suggestions are required to prevent Driving Anger in order to improve drivers’ activities and prevent accidents.

Abstract:

Introduction: One of the most important public health threats in the world today, is Driving accidents and Iran is among the countries that in Driving accidents and loss of life is huge. While 90 to 95 percent of road accidents are caused by human factors. Risky Driving behaviors, the second leading cause of death and the first cause of years of life lost due top re-mature death and disability in iran considered. Meanwhile, some of the driver personality characteristics have an important share in intensifying or weakening of risky Driving behaviors that most important of them are sensation seeking, angry, aggressive and has -mental health. The purpose of this paper is to present the realism descriptive of risky Driving behavior in Mashhad, with a focus on the four personality characteristic, identify processes of risky Driving intensifying or weakening.
